About Us

In May of 2022, Sonya Sammut was appointed as the first national Ambassador for Organic and Sustainable Food. The primary task of this role is to promote the sustainability of food in the Maltese Islands. One of the first missions as Ambassador was the drafting, coordination, and implementation of a National Organic Action Plan. Launched in 2023, the Plan is not in its implementation phase, with the ultimate aim to increase organically managed agricultural land to 5% of total agricultural land in the Maltese Islands.

The Largest Organic Farm in Malta

Joe Sciberras and his son Isaac are one of the first organic farmers in the island, being registered since 2006. In charge of a large farm just next to the Majjistral Park, a Natura 2000 site, they resonate with their surroundings by practicing organic farming which has a notably low impact on the environment.
